Marie (Kost) Youstic



Marie (Kost) Youstic, 97 of Houtzdale, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:35 PM at Penn Highlands, Clearfield.

Marie was born on Nov. 8, 1916 in Janesville, a daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Rudiak) Kost.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey and was a homemaker. Marie enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and taking long walks.

On Nov. 6, 1948 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Marie married Peter Youstic who preceded her in death on April 3, 1971.

Marie is survived by a sister, Evelyn Peslipsky and a niece, Patricia Peslipsky, with whom she made her home. Marie was also Patricia's Godmother. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Kostura, Helen Kost and Margaret Ludwig; and six brothers, Charles, Pete, Metro, Frank, and infants John and George.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Tuesday, April 22 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc Ramey. A Parastas service will be sung on Monday at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home by Fr. Anthony Balistreri.

Funeral services will be held in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:00 AM with Very Rev. Anthony Balistreri officiating.

Interment services will follow in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church P.O. Box 205 Ramey, PA 16671. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com.
