Patricia Ann (Bennett) Doran


Patricia Ann (Bennett) Doran, 77 of State College formerly of Madera passed away at 10:50 AM, Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

She was born on May 27, 1937, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late William A. and Mary (Keyser) Bennett.

Pat married Andrew Doran, Jr on Oct. 17, 1959 in Philadelphia, he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1998. Andrew served 30 years in the U.S. Navy and Pat traveled with him to Morocco, Africa and Rota, Spain.

She is survived by a son and daughter, Andrew Doran III (Sandy) of Seiverville, TN and Cindy M. Doran of State College; 2 grandchildren, HM2 Patrick Andrew Doran, US Navy stationed in Kuwait and Lindsey Christine Doran of Romeoville, IL; 5 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; a sister, Mary "Marsey" Scott of Philadelphia and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Buddy" Bennett, Harry "Harsey" Bennett; 5 sisters, Loraine "Rainy" Cannon, Doris "Lubby" Scott, Laverna "Wisey" James, Eleanor "Sippy" Kain and Joan; one step grandson and a step great granddaughter.

Pat attended the State College Assembly of God Church and was a volunteer caregiver. She had a contagious smile and a generous personality that drew people to her wherever she went. Pat was able to make everyone feel welcome and special. Her kindness and love will be missed.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 6-9 PM and on Thursday, Aug. 7 from 12 Noon - 2:00 PM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc Madera.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 2:00 PM in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Madera, with Pastor Harry Brotzman, Jr officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centre County Paws 1401 Trout Road State College, PA 16801. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com.
