Obituary for Emma Victoria McCully
Emma Victoria McCully, 89 of Ramey passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born on October 23, 1927 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Hansel) Matea.
Emma graduated in 1945 from Bigler Twp High School. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She was also a Notary Public and the owner of Ramey Garage. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.
On September 4, 1952 she married Robert McCully at Centre St. Methodist Church in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2016.
She is survived by her children, Geraldine McCully of Ramey, Charles McCully, and his wife Joyce, of Ramey, and Robert McCully, and his wife Kim, of Lancaster; a sister, Florence Broberg of Mesa, AZ; and five grandchildren, Britney, Kelley, Katie, Ashley, and Erin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances McCully, two brothers, Thomas and Charles Matea, and three sisters, Marie Oplinsky, Joann Veach, and Bertha Matea.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. (Everyone please meet at the church). Rev. Zab Amar will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery, Ramey.
