Obituary for Robert M. Bowery
Robert Merle Bowery, 82, of Atlantic, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Penn Highlands Dubois.
Born on March 5, 1934 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Fred H. Bowery, Sr. and Zelma (Hall) Bowery.
He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Kellytown Union Church in Olanta, VFW Post 1785 in Clearfield, and American Legion Post 6 in Clearfield.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy (Tyler) Bowery; six children, Robert Bowery, Jr. of Clearfield, Cindy Lemmo of Curwensville, Romona Oakman of Meadville, PA, Billie Mae Bowery of Penfield, Sheila Ball of N.H., and Robin Bowery of Clearfield; two step-children, Richard Zapsky, Jr. and Lisa Ream both of Houtzdale; a sister, Hilda Mae Thompson of Grove City, PA; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Bowery, Jr., and two sisters, Mary Jane Townsend and Dorothy Jean Stumph.
Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Tuesday in Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Madera, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday with Rev. Robert Witherow officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
