Obituary for William Michael Burega

William Michael Burega, 67, of Ramey, passed away at home on November 7, 2015, following an eleven year struggle with cancer. He was born on November 20, 1947 in Troy, NY to Walter and Mary Burega. Surviving are brothers, Vince and Steve.

Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force upon graduation from Shaker High School in Latham, NY. He proudly served eight years as an aircraft mechanic and flight line supervisor at McGuire AFB, NJ.

During a bowling league, Bill bought and won a raffle ticket from Mary Jo Sigel Confer, formerly of Stormstown, PA, whom he would later marry, twice. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Crystal (Jack) Johnston of Houtzdale and Amanda (Eric) Oliver of Smithmill, PA, and Mary Jo’s children Ronald Confer of Theodore, AL and Debra Leber of Morrisville. Bill had twelve grandchildren, Dennis and Zackary (Cait) Leber, Nia Confer, Brittany, Alexandria, and Duston Vadeboncoeur, Jack Johnston, Kelly (Eric) Denkhaus, Tyler and Hailey Vanish, and Brittany and Kristyn Oliver..

Bill also has four great-grandchildren, Zelda, Keegan, and Declan Leber, and Ryder Denkhaus.

Bill was previously employed locally at Centre Engineering, CATA, Maxwell Trucking and retired from Glenn O. Hawbraker, Inc.

He enjoyed his family, bowling, car racing, and Fox News.

At Bill’s request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
