Obituary for John Visnofsky

John Visnofsky



Mr. John Visnofsky, 79, of Beccaria, passed away at 1:20 PM, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Tyrone Hospital, Tyrone, PA.

He was born in Beccaria on Nov. 23, 1929 a son of the late George and Helen (Carroll) Visnofsky.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a coal miner. He retired from Mine 33, in Ebensburg.

Mr. Visnofsky was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and Stephen Kandrach VFW Post 6321, Smithmill.

On Feb. 20, 1962 in Madera he married Janet M. Richardson Visnofsky, who survives of Beccaria.

He is survived by a son, John E. Visnofsky of Madera; three grandchildren, Andrew Visnofsky, Samantha Visnofsky and Duane Visnofsky.



He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Hurtack of Beccaria and Katherine Thompson of Houtzdale and a number of nieces and nephews.



Mr. Visnofsky was preceded in death by three brothers, Nicholas, George and Frank; and a sister, Ann Evanchak.

Friends will be received on Sunday, May, 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Monday, May 11 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Madera.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 11 at 1:00 PM in the Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc., Madera. Rev. Thomas A. McCoy will officiate and interment will follow with Military Honors in the Alexander Cemetery, Madera.
