Odessa E. "Dutchie" (Patterson) Zeigler



Odessa E. "Dutchie" (Patterson) Zeigler, 94, former of Madera, passed away at 1:15 PM, Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Valley View Home, Altoona.

She was born on May 23, 1918, at Ramey, a daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Shoff) Patterson.

Dutchie was a member of the Madera United Methodist Church and was a 1936 graduate of the former Madera High School. She also was a past member of the Madera High School Alumni Association and the Madera V.F.W. Post 882 Ladies Auxiliary.

Along with being a homemaker, Dutchie helped her husband in daily operations of the former Zeigler's Jewelry Store of Houtzdale.

Dutchie is survived by a daughter, Beth Ann Rhodes and her husband, Mick of Altoona; a sister, Lois Johnston of Tujunga, CA and a nephew, Jack Johnston. Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.



In addition to her parents, Dutchie was preceded in death by her husband, John Zeigler who died on March 8, 1971. They where married Oct. 5, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK.
