Obituary for Goldie I Gardner (Mosley)

Goldie I. (Mosley) Hamm Gardner

Goldie I. (Mosley) Hamm Gardner, 83 of Madera and a guest of Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield died on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the home.

Born on January 27, 1930 in Belsena Mills, she was the daughter of Lewis and Bess (Lockett) Mosley. She was a 1947 graduate of Madera High School, graduating with honors. She had worked for 42 years in various sewing factories in the area in the cutting room. She was Methodist by faith and a former member of the Madera VFW Ladies Auxillary and the Curwensville Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed flowers, walking, spending time with children and grandchildren, riding in the woods looking for deer, crossword puzzles and board games.

In July of 1947 she wed Francis C. "Joe" Hamm who preceded her in death on January 3, 1972. On February 2, 1973, she wed her second husband, Jack L. Gardner who also preceded her in death in May 2010.

Goldie is survived by three sons and three daughters, Francis "Joe" Hamm and Lewis (Judy) Hamm of Madera, Marya Reinbott and Tim (Dorothy) Hamm of Houtzdale, Kathy Hamm of Brisbin, Barbara (Ron) Bainey of Osceola Mills, two stepchildren, Robert (Tammy) Gardner and Jackie Perino; seven grandchildren, Greg (Ann), Bill (Jamie), Jessie, Timmy, Bridget and Ana Hamm, Amy (Trent) Yarrison and five great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers, Mona Nevling of Houtzdale, Sandra Kyle of Bethlehem, Judith Mitchell of Clearfield, Richard (Betty) Mosley of Madera and Robert (Jane) Mosley of Dover; two sisters-in-law, Florence Mosley of North Carolina and Edith Mosley of Houtzdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Francis C. "Joe" Hamm, second husband, Jack L. Gardner and one granddaughter, Melinda Hamm.

Friends will be received at Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc., Madera on Wednesday, January 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Thursday, January 30 from 9-11AM. Funeral & Committal Services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Ford on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will follow in the Brisbin IOOF Cemetery, Brisbin.
