Bette M. (Capatch) Nesaw


Bette M. (Capatch) Nesaw, 90, of Ginter, passed away at 7:35 PM, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.

Bette was born on May 29, 1922 at Madera, a daughter of the late George and Martha (VanScoyoc) Capatch.

She was a 1941 graduate of the Madera High School and was a parishioner of the First United Methodist Church of Houtzdale. Bette was a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1961 and was presently a member of the Clearfield Chapter #379 Order of the Eastern Star. Her love of God allowed her to face the world unafraid, Bette was a giver, a doer and a contribution to society. She also enjoyed crafts and sewing.

Bette was the beloved wife, of 70 years to her childhood sweetheart, Alexander "Alex" F. Nesaw, Jr, who survives of Ginter. They were married on May 2, 1942 in Winchester, VA.

She is survived by a son and a daughter; Douglas Nesaw and his wife Florence of Sewickley, PA and Joyce Nesaw and her fiancé Steve Stapel of Sewickley, PA; and a daughter-in-law, Anita Nesaw of Glenshaw. Bette was the loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sisters, Rita Hontz of Clearfield and Marie Boyer of Altoona and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bette was preceded in death by a son, Gary F. Nesaw on Aug. 20, 2004; three brothers, Carmen, George and Harold Capatch; and 3 sisters, Shirley Aveni, Marjorie Berkovich and Carol Burns.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 29 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Saturday, June 30 from 9-11 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc, Ramey.



Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11:00 AM in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Ramey, with Rev. Robert Ford officiating.

Entombment will be in the Mount Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church 811 Clara St. Houtzdale, PA 16651. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com
