Sadie Elizabeth (Berndt) North


Mrs. Sadie Elizabeth (Berndt) North, 99, of Ramey, passed away at 4:55 PM, Thursday, April 1, 2010 at her residence.

Born on March 25, 1911 in Ramey a daughter of the late Otto Berndt and Bessie (Reed) Berndt Brown.

Mrs. North was a homemaker and a parishioner of Faith United Lutheran Church, Houtzdale. She also was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church Ladies Aid Society.

On Nov. 28, 1933 in Bellwood, PA she married Walter W. North who preceded her in death on June 16, 1967.

She is survived by a son and daughter; Sherman North and his wife Denise of RD Morrisdale and Sheila Quick of Ramey.

She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Caroline Amato, Marjoline North, Gerald Quick, Tammy Stiner, Sophia Amato and Marco Amato.

A number of nieces and nephews survive.

Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. North was preceded in death by her step father, James Brown; a sister, Beatrice Barr and three brothers, Edward, Harry and Albert Berndt.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Tuesday, April 6 from 9-11 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 6 at 11:00 AM in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc, Ramey with the Rev. David B. Letscher officiating.
